Fundus Photography
Fundus photography involves taking a picture of the back of the eye with a specialized camera. This can be performed within a few minutes and often can be done without dilation. We refer to this test as the KOWA. It is $25.00 and often not covered by insurance, unless you have a specific diagnosis. This picture can help detect Diabetic Retinopathy, Histoplasmosis, Macular Drusen, Macular degeneration, Vitreous detachments, melanoma, hemorrhages and hypertension.
